Default Anyone else on a VTEC diet?

My attempt at not having to fill up 3 times a week, I've been really trying NOT to play in VTEC so much. I mean why do it when I'm just driving to work and back? Its hard not to, but it seems like when I get all throttle happy my gas mileage just sux ***! Anyone else dieting? Maybe its the AEM calling my name......

Hmm, actually that is the one thing I refuse to limit myself too. Driving is the one refuge I have from the daily hell which some ironically call life

Not too expensive out in Illinois anyways, I pay about $15 to fill up. However, I have been avoiding VTEC lately just cause it's so hot out and I'd rather run my air conditioning then rev. my engine.

I know I'm just a lowly GS-R, but it was funny. I was breaking in my baby the last couple of weeks and noticed that my gas milage was a lot better then my previous GS-R. Then this week, I just cleared 1000 miles...went into VTEC a couple times, and thought...oh crap. Thats why. I'll probably "be good", but its gonna be hard!!

Well it's actually harder to get into the Vtec range with an ITR since the Vtec comes in at 1300 rpm later than the GSR..AND it you're EVER in the vtec range in an ITR (especialy in 3-4-or5th) you're just about a moving violation. Of course the flip side is the intoxication no amout of liquor could match...

Vtec or not to Vtec..

Oh the chioces HO. Mo Co. puts us through

Yeah, I agree w/ erottik-R, but only if you're in town. You can hit VTEC in 3rd (on the highway) for just a little bit before it's a moving violation

Get Spec B's. You won't even need to get to VTEC

Seriously, my average mileage went from 230-250 a tank to 300-320 after the Spec B install (!!)

I had a little fender bender the other day leaving work and have not gone above 4k since then (about 2 tanks). I noticed that I get a lot better gas mileage when I do this.

Another huge benifit is the fact that after a long time of not having any VTEC, when you finally hit it again it is so much sweeter. I forgot my car was that fast.

I try to hit VTEC in 5th at least once a day. It kicks in at exactly 110 if you're working your way up.

Oh I know, I've driven Punks ITR. There is a definite difference obviously. His gas milage is worse than mine! Heh heh.

I've heard is possible with stock stuff, but cannot for the life of me figure out how. Even during break-in, I couldn't get that sort of mileage out of my car. B's + Jack tune = happy car!!

I go on a VTEC diet every winter....summer = VTEC every damn chance I get
