HONDATA ? need help ASAP
Well tonight I was coming home and th check engine light came on ****** so my ? is I have HOndata stage 2 with a P28 with OBD2 to OBD1 harness so when I take it to my mechanic tomarrow is he going to be able to figure out what the CELL is like on the stock ECU?

Ya went on the net and found out how I got a gret code #16
faulty injector or unplugged injector oh **** I hope the motor is OK runs fine I thaught it was #17 VSS so I unplugged it and undid the NEg on the batery and then test drove to see if it was fixed and sure enoght it was I hit Vtec SO i was happy but then I hit vtec and tried to take her past 7K and bam cell and VTEC turned off real fast. Exhaust note puttered for a sec then went back to normal so I hope I did not hurt any pistons if it ran lean *******cross's fingers*****
IS there a way to check what the duty cyle of your injectors is? mabe my hondat tunning is running them to hard and that caused the problem.

OK now im tripping big time. This morning I turn on the car to have my mechanic check out my injectors etc so I turn on the car and no check engine light at all YAY. So I drive to my mechanics and I drive the **** out of it cause I wanted to see if it would come back so I hit Vtec a few times and nothing it was perfect did not cut out no CEL so now im scratching my head and wondering what the deal is role to my mechanices to find out he is on vacation till Thurs and I dont want to take it to honda so they can **** it up more. WEll then Im on my way home and I stop somewhere and then when I got back in the car and turned it on I back up and boom CEL and the car is sputering like Cat less WRX I quickly turn it off and get out and pull out my trusty paper clip check the ECU code again and boom CEL #16 injector problem

The only thing I can think of doing is putting in my SI computer but then the AFR will be 19
hella lean and I dont want to do any damage to the motor but mabe it will tell me if its the injector or HONDATA. Mabe I will try it to see. If anybody has any sugjestions please drop me a line im stumped here

hmm.. when you get code 16, - is it abs light flashing or check engine light? if abs - then it means nothing..
other than that check whatever connections and unplug ecu to reset the code.. can't think of what the problem could be.. if hondata unit doen'st work, you can't rev past 4K.. the way i seen it it either works or doesn't..

check fuel pressure see if all the injectors are working put your hand over them and feel/listen for a clicking type noise also wiggle the wires around at the ecm too see if that does anything,call me if you need help.

I think I know what the problem is my front blinkers dont blink anymore cause of a bad connection so they need to replaced but I hve to go to a junkyard to get the pluggs unless I want ot buy a whole front portion of the engine harness etc. Id did not do it today on the way to work or on way home so its prob that I just need to get if fixed. If that is not the problem I have no idea

This does not seem hondata related. sounds more like a wiring/injector issue. You have not said what injectors you are running, but you may also have a bad injector that is getting stuck open or closed.

I did not drive like a ricer I just poped it in to forth on freeway and slowly ran RPMS up till Vtec change over to see if something was still wrong
cause thats when it had a problem last night. I was just seeing if it was going to do it again since the car was running like normal at the time I just wanted to see if it was a 24hour grimlin.

I think I had the exact same problem you had... I was all of a sudden loose throttle control (zero responose for a fraction of a second while in VTEC and engine light would flash on for a second) -- I had my Hondata S100 tuned at Dynospot in San Jose, I brought it back and they called Hondata to find out whatsup. Apparently, its a common problem -- they took the unit back out and soliderer a jumper on the board and everything was fixed.

WEll thanks for all the help guys I trouble shooted the car for two hours with my mechanic and we checked the stock wiring harness turns out one of the wires going in thte clips thta goes in teh ECU was a tad loose and that ws causing the the little hick up for me here and there for a few days. SO problem solved thanks to all that gave me ideas as to where to look
