Looks great but taking off the tranny mount doesn't seem like a good thing.

why?
my friend has a b16 swap in his hatch and didnt even come with a brace and hes been having that motor for more than two years and thats the only car he has to go around in.
but this is only temparary till i get it shaved.
also i put everything back in banged the heatsheld but still the clearence of the muffler is too close to the frame and its making a vibrating noise

so i got to mess with the hanger to fix the problem
till then

I had the same problem with the muffler rattle. I'm sure you don't want to hear it but the only solution that worked for me was a hammer. Adjusting the hangers just wasn't enough.

But regardless... I've still got for the HyTech setup!

Shaving of the ITR flywheel cover is something everyone has to do with the HyTech header. Did John not mention this to you? Usually you send the brace to him and he'll shave it for you and send it back as an included service with getting the header.

Is there really no O2 bung in the cat? Mine has one.

No problem with the fit of my comptech race header at all. The Hytech is design to require that piece to be cut so i woudl not call that a fittment issue.

must be a used header since it's already turned into that golden color.

John has a GSR header and an ITR header. The jigs are different.

These issues are always something you have to deal with when it comes to the higher end headers. Think this is unique to only Hytech and Comptech?: Dave told me you had to remove one of the GSR's tranny mounts for his SMSP hybrid long version headers. You have to get O2 sensor extensions if you are using a Carsound cat instead of the Renault cat. The exhaust Bpipe has to be shortened if you aren't using their exhaust.

I'm saying that in return for a 17-26 whp (after proper tuning and using the right diameter cat/ exhaust) from 5500 rpm up, the minor things you have to deal with to set yourself apart from the herd is pretty trivial. If this is the sort of thing that makes you sqeamish and would hold you back from getting a custom header, then you shouldn't be in the high end performance parts market. The headers that are stock length would be your preference: straight no hassle bolt on but will it compete with the choices here? (some do, some don't: spoon or toda hybrid headers seem to do okay for these people)

OR, a custom header souldnt have fitment issues or sacrifices that go along with it... it's custom, and costs $1500

replace ur type r flywheel cover with a stock gsr unit. the stock gsr one is a flat peice of metal. should fit perfect with your header.

I think that you're the anomoly, it must have been a simple mistake to send you an exhaust without the 2nd bung. I even have a second bung and i don't need it since I have a hondata. Once you upgrade to a Hondata, or a tuned ECU the need for a second O2 sensor will no longer be there.

Yeah you can do that and use the GS-R tranny braces. I didn't know this piece on the ITR looked like that. Looks like they combined the flywheel cover and 2 engine-tranny braces into a single piece. On the GS-R there is a flat piece of metal to cover the flywheel and then 2 separate braces that go between the tranny and the engine block.
