i want to install cam gears.... not quite sure how to though??
i would like to install cam gears my self on my civic. its a sohc and it doesnt look to tricky. if someone could please help with some tips or a full install instructions that would be awesome. Also how to retard the timing and to whatr degrees usually gives the best hp? thank you. tj
anyone have anything they can help witrh or add? i need to know. i really want to do this install for the experience? i know most of you know how to do this. i need the experience.
remove the cam gear plastic cover...loose the tension on the timing belt, by way of the crank pulley, remove cam gear, put new one on...what you set the timing at depends on what mods you have, and exactly what you want to do to your car...I recommend finding someone with a dyno, and have them tune and dyno session your car...I also recommend cams, retainers and springs...
i have basic i/h/e. how much are dyno sessions? i dont know too many places around here with dynos. does anyone know what the basic retard in timing is on a sohc civic? isnt like -2 degrees? how difficult is the install if i do it by my self?
no theres more to installin it you have to remove loosen the tension of the belt to the gears, remove the valve cover i mean open it up and the shaft lopes need grease its alot to do
