ok this happedend before i took the b16 out, i thought the starter died, well i got another one and well it does the same, both starters are good..... this is on a 1990 hatch

i checked my voltage, and at the battery i have 12.5 and when i turn over the key it sits at 9.0 volts at the starter....... ????

i replaced the main relay allready, im not sure the starter relay might be bad, where could i get one at?

but if it isnt that then im lost, i have no clue, the starter wont even spin over if i take it off the flywheel and turn the key
but if i put straight power on it it works fine......
anyone even have this happen to them?
please help i need to get this thing started

So your not getting 12 volts on the starter?

if thats the case check your cables

 

When you turn the key, can you hear the starter solenoid go "click"?

And you say that if you put 12v power directly to the starter, it spins?

 

ok well got the starter to turn over, but now it wont fire up, we have fuel, we have air, we have spark


you do the math

 

motor is brand new

all new bearings etc.... it is hard as **** to turn
