Just installed JG intake on 00GSR - idles high?
Ok we want to make it to the track tonite to race.
Car: 00 GSR Greddy Turbo stock internals
Ok so we ripped out the stock intake manifold no problem. Go to put on the new one, and got a bit confused on the vacuum connections. But we ended up finding a suitable spot what we thought for all the lines.
Start up the car, idles around 1500, and was "pulsating" every 2 seconds to 1400RPM-1500RPM. hhmm..... I looked and no vacuums seem to be loose. AAhhhh the plug for the IACV was not plugged in! That must be it. I disconnected the ground for maybe a minute or 2, connected the plug, and reconnected battery...hhmmmm still did it. Did I not leave the batt disconnected long enough to reset the ECU?
So I tightened the idle screw as much as possible, and it got rid of the pulsating, and lowered the idle SLIGHTLY. Also, on the what I believe is the EVAP canister (black box connected under stock intake manifold) It has 3 vacuum lines on it, one just goes back into the box, the other two - one goes right into the intake, the other is 'T'd off a line that runs directly into the intake manifold as well.
The boost gauge is reading 24 in/hg while idling. My buddy actually just took off with the car but he had to go back to work, and he said it will only boost like 5psi, and its kinda ******* out. He just called and said while hes driving sometimes it dips as low as 30
Last, I snugged on the intake manifold bolts a bit tighter that what i felt the stock ones were on. The stock ones came off fairly easy. Maybe its not tightened at the bottom?
Any insight would be great. We were going to the racetrack tonite!
