can i solder a broken bolt?
i changed the thermostat on my 4th gen and i accidentally snapped off one of the small bolt that goes through the thermostat housing. The bolt apparently does not have to be on so tight... so I was wondering if soldering the bolt back on be alright or is it not going to withstand when i tighten the bolt to spec? thanks for the help
the bolt is part of the engine so I cant just go out and buy a new bolt. is there any other solution other than going out to a shop and weld it? btw... how much do you have to pull until the solder falls off?
lol you don't solder bolts.
I'd recommend you get the end of the bolt that is out, you may need to tap and thread it as well, or just purchase a new main water line (that has a new thermostat housing)
