On an older car, whith the paint all faded, is there a type of "clearcoat" you can put on it to make it shine like new again? Like repainting the whole car with it?

 

as far as i know clearcoats wont stay(maybe it'll last a couple of months before peeling off) after the paint is cured...maybe try water sand it and glaze it, then apply wax will help lot.

 

wait a minute, if the paint is faded then there's no point of making it shine, what i said above will help making it shine but you can still see the fade...just get a new paintjob
