tranny fluid? unless its leaking, not the cause.
did you check the clutch fluid reservoir? If its empty, this will cause it. If its full, your clutch is busted.

lol that or a bad slave would have been my guess. yeah, bleed it out using some dot 4 brake fluid. the bleeder is on the slave cylinder.

well if its out of fluid, fill it and bleed the slave cylinder. keep an eye on the fluid level, use cheap-o DOT3 brake fluid.

well there's a bleeder on the slave cyl, looks just like the brake bleeder. Or you could order a speed bleeder for it ( http://www.speedbleeder.com/ ) and save yourself alot of hassle
just to be sure it is the small 8mm bolt on a little pipe, just unscrew that and pour the fluid in the reservoir and let gravity take over?
do a search for clutch bleed/bleeding, you'll find instructions there - fill up the reservoir before you start. Just keep an eye on the fluid level. My old SC had this problem (leaky slave) and i checked the fluid level at each oil change and topped off as neccessary, drove it for 5 years like that.

8mm sounds right, and yes, it looks just like the brake bleeders. To bleed, you'll need to pump the clutch pedal to move the fluid through the system.

so the gravity technique wont work, i read that in another post

thanks to those who helped out today. i think the problem is fixed, for now. i bled out all the old fluid, it was pretty gunky and really thick (like motor oil). anyway, the car shifts just as it did so i am happy. i will keep an eye on the fluid very closely for the next few days to ensure there are no other leaks. rest assured, if there are, H-T will be the first to know.
look for a source to where your fluid went. There should be no reason it is empty unless its leaking. Check your clutch Master cylinder for leakage (Inside the car above the clutch pedal, if theres brake fluid all around its time to replace it)
