Default B18C1 Head on a B16 block specs?

Anyone know what the stats would be on this setup,

- compression ratio, bore x stroke, displacement, hp, torque

- how would my performance be effected?
for example: the 1/4 mile on a B18C1 is 15.5 and 0-60 is 7.2

Approximately how would this setup effect my numbers,
-faster, slower, about the same??

im thinkin it would be slower... you would lose alot of torque because of the b16 block... also a gsr head doesnt flow as well as a b16 head.

why dont you switch it up and get the gsr block and b16 head???? poor man's itr motor. from what i've heard it's had some awesome results. im kinda thinking your setup would be slower too. IMO

B16A block with a B18C head would, according to C-Speed Racing's Calculator, have a bore/stroke of a stock B16A (duh) with a bore of 81mm and a stroke of 77mm. Combustion chamber volume would go from 42.70cc per cylinder to 41.60cc per cylinder. Displacement is unchanged (duh) at 1587cc. Compression ratio would be increased from 10.20:1 to 10.44:1. I'd think you'd gain a few ponies assuming the heads flowed the same (and they've been proven to flow almost identical numbers). It's the intake manifold where you'd lose HP in my opinion; the GSR manifold is suxors.

HTH

BTW can anyone tell me where to find a B18C shortblock? They're dang hard to find

raene is right about the static C/R, etc. but C-Speed is off by just a tad on the stroke of a B16A (which isn't a big deal but oh well)... It's actually 77.40mm's which brings the displacement up to 1595cc's... It also slightly bumps up the C/R... As for the difference in the PR3 to the P72 cylinder head, flow charts I've seen are pretty close... The P72 seems to make a little bit better midrange where as the PR3 flows better in the high rpm band... The B18C is still my favorite block and that's what I would go with... B16A/B's will ALWAYS be the torqueless little monsters Peace

Im doing the opposite right now, GSR block with a port/polished b16 head. To compensate for compression loss im puting in the pr3 pistons. Its my low budget type R.

B18C1 Head with head internals (as listed on dyno).
Stock B16A block... 189 HP!

The **** still pulls hard past 9K rpms!
