Default jrsc on type -r

hi i know my post number are low call me a noob if you want but i've read a lot (400 post ) and ive got a question.
My friend got a 00' type r and he just bought a jrsc he's always saying to me that beyond 6 psi its too high for a stock block.
he's got a stage 2 sport cat cam (dynoed at 171 hp on mustang dyno (untuned))
(sorry for my english im french canadian)
is it true the 6 psi thing ? (i tought it was more like 9 psi ?)
and would you be kind enough to post a dynosheet if you happen to have 1
thanx
etienne

I will attempt to answer this question:

With correct tuning of fuel and timing the stock Type R block will handle 9psi from the Jackson Supercharger. However, you will possibly see little improvement over even 8psi due to your stating the increase overlap.

For example the Jackson Racing Supercharger at 8psi did NOT gain any horsepower when a vehicle equipped with stock cams switched to Skunk2 stage 1 cams. Results may vary.

The Jackson Blower is a great kit, however you must control the timing and fuel carefully in the higher psi range.

In addition the higher the PSI the higher the intake temperature.

Since you are in Canada (I assume) it may be colder there than in Sunny Florida. Hence, you can get away with higher boost. In winter you may be able to run up to 10-11psi. But I would not do that without a good tuner.

Enjoy your Jackson, do not make a mistake by using poor tuning.

You can run the jrsc up to 10-11 psi on a stock R engine. All you will need is larger injectors and some sort of fuel management system plus some way to control the timing. The engine internals will easily handle that boost IF the fuel and timing are properly tuned.
