I would think your B16 tranny would go good with a all motor high rev gsr..but I dont know of anywhere to get the jdm b16 tranny sync's...I have heard they are the same as "D" series but cant confirm.

Contact Bob-DC2 he may be able to help you get OE tranny parts for a reasonable price.

You have to change the mainshaft to a GSR mainshaft to get GSR 1st and 2nd gear since they are both directly machined on the main shaft.

It is a little nicer to have a higher first gear to get higher mph out of 1st and less of an rpm drop when shifting into 2nd.

How do I measure the installed height of valve springs? I hear people talk about installed height, how do I check and adjust it? I know with V8 heads I've assembled I would have to shim it, and they were measuring with a caliper style micrometer... but that was in class where I had the tools. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Without a spring mic it's hard to do. I usually install the valve and retainer with just the stock inner spring (pressue is low enough to easily install by hand). Then carefully cut a drinking straw to 1.320" then use this to gage the distance between the spring seat and retainer where the outer spring seats.

Ok and a method like this will work with your Speed Stable springs? I should be picking up the cams and everything in the next week or two from camp1320. I do have a caliper type mic that would work to measure, but how do I adjust if its not in spec?

To adjust the valve up or down will require you to i) change the size of the valve ii) change the valve job.

Typically with our retainer you'll have more than 1.320" as our retainer also sits higher for more lift.

Hopes this helps.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by ill phil &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Ok and a method like this will work with your Speed Stable springs?
