Default Rattling noise on acceleration?

It mainly happens when my car is having a hard time accelerating (AC on, big hills) It sounds like it's coming from the front of the car, the CV axles are brand new. I can't really explain the noise, it's just like a popping noise that only happens when I press on the gas... does anyone have an idea to what this could be?

Spark Knock or preignition. What grade of gas do you run? Is the timing set properly. if it is advanced too far it will sound like a metalic rattle. That's you pistons rattling as the ignited early gases try to sqeeze by the piston. If it is doing it alot it will crack/burn a piston. Try Hi octane fuel (prenium). if it goes away then its spark knock. Be sure to check the timing first it may be as simple as properly setting the timing.

I also have something similar to this, its only during acceleration as well. Sounds like a bolt rattling in a hole with no nut to hold it still. When in neutral and revving it doesnt do it, only when in a gear...I'm going to have my car put on rollers this weekend to see if we can pinpoint where its coming from. If yours is the same as mine (only on accel in a gear) then I'll let you know what I find out. If it was ignition based it woudl do it even in neutral...

yep it sounds very similar to that, please let me know what you find out... timing was recently set, I will try higher octane next fill up (I currently run 87). Could it be a mount? my mounts are going bad, maybe that's an idea

I run 89 and it hasnt changed at all, my mounts are old too but not cracked....I hear it real loud when driving next to something and the sound reflects off whatever I'm next to and it comes from both sides. We'll see...
