Sell Car or Swap Engine?
I keep contemplating this question over and over in my head yet I fail to come to a conclusion. Right now I have had my EX for about a year and 7 months. It's been a fun project, but I don't know if I should continue. The downfall is that it is an automatic currently (no flames, got a good deal). So far I have only done basic stuff to the car such as suspension, bolt-ons, wheels, etc. because it is hard to do more on a 17 year old salary. I can either keep the car and throw in a B18C1, which will make the auto to manual conversion much easier and also have a nice little increase in torque and horsepower, or I could take the money I will have saved up for the engine, add it to the amount I receive from selling my EJ, and put it towards another project? Which should I go for? The car does have some sentimental value because it was my first, I've never had a single problem with it, and also my dad has helped me with installs along the way. If I were to start a new project, I would have around $11K, so if I were to go that route, what should I get? Thanks.
For straight up race, weight is your friend.
I would say then if your gonna start another project beside the coupe. Sell the coupe, make a nice 4dr eg sleeper. The 4 dr DX trim is about as heavy as the ex coupe. Man 4dr sleepers are awesome.

$11,000 will build a very fine car and motor.
Find a Civic, I assume another Civic?......for dirt cheap, maybe with a bad motor, $3000-$4000
Motor; you mentioned a GSR swap, estimate $3500/shipped ( http://www.hmotorsonline.com )
Brakes; replace rotors (Brembo or Power Slot) , pads (AEM or Axxis), stainless steel lines (Earl's or Goodridge), estimate $350
Suspension; TEIN , H&R, or Tokico basic coil-overs, estimate $1000 and under
Suspension; strut bars, tie bars, sway bars, estimate $700
I/H/E; estimate $1000 +/- $300
in the end.....$9500 - $10,800 for your car, swap, stiffness, stoppers, and bolt-ons.

It doesn't necessarily have to be another Civic. I am also considering an Intengra. Thanks for the rough estimate, D16Z6racing.

I know it's not a Honda but I'm also considering this...
I've always been partial to 2.5RS coupes. Is there any aftermarket for them? Any decent Subaru forums where I could look up some info and ask some questions?

You can do a helluva lot with $11k. I've got a project underway and I'll get everything I want for $8,500 including the car. GSR motor and suspension swaps and TEINs, just to name a few small things. (just letting out a few small hints for those who see my posts)

That's true. You can do a lot with that kind of money, but not if I go the RS route seeing as though they are pricey in my area and hard to find.

It doesn't matter what kind of car you got. Dont' matter how much money you dump into it, even if it is a civic. If the money you are dumping into the civic is benefiting it, for example, drag racing, autrocross, etc. and its performing, than whats the waste?
Maaan a 95 EJ1 is DA BOMB!! I love 5th Gen Coupe. I have on myself and I recently bought a TEG and I was planning to sell the Civic but I saw it across the parking lot and I just couldn't let her go.
Black, Lowered... MAN!!!! What a beautiful car.
I say keep the car. The hassel to find another car is not worth it when you have such a GEM. Weight??? Maaan yes hatches are lighter but they don't do anything for me (well not like the Coupe) as far as looks. The Coupe looks more sporty in my opinion. You have an excellent car and the tranny swap and engine swap is relatively easy and looks like you have a good amount of $$$ saved to do some amazing things with it. GOOD LUCK
