Today I returned to my car after a month in storage. Stupidly, I never disconnected the battery as I was in a rush at the time when I last left it. So, I tried to start it today and the car had no juice whatsoever in the battery. I got a jump and drove around a bit trying to recharge the battery a bit. At the stop lights, the engine was idling so low I was afraid of stalling out so I kept some gas on it in neutral. To make a long story short, I stalled the car in the middle of a huge intersection. The police came and restarted the car and it is safely back, but the battery has no power.

So, I decided on getting a new battery rather than charging the current one. Are the type R batteries special to our model, or can I get any integra battery? What do they run? Thanks.

The type-r batteries are smaller/lighter than the other integra batteries, if i remember correctly.

 

I called the acura dealer and was told the integra batteries are all the same...and run $86

My battery was low as hell after not using the car for prolonged periods ...
Just charge it for a couple hours, it should be fine.

If you insist on buying a new battery, they shouldn't be more than (79.95) 80 bucks from the local dealer.

 

Well 13.5 + 20 = 33.5 lbs not 40+ lbs.

How long can you get by by recharging it everytime you let it get low? Since I only track mine now, it gets real low between drives and I have to charge it about everytime and it starts making this bubbling noise when near full. I check on it every 1/2 hour or so when charging so I can disconnect it right when the bubbling starts so it doesn't blow. I'd hate to buy a new battery just to kill it by letting it run down all the time.

 

The stock battery is only ~30lbs. A 40lb battery is something that would come out of a Prelude or Accord.

 

H-series batteries are a little beefier than a B-series battery. Just get another one through your dealer, or even check and see if you can warranty the battery through them. The battery has a warranty on it just like everything else on the car.

Disconnect the Negative Terminal when the car is not in use.
