any tips on painting valve cover?
i want to paint my valve cover red, will regular spray paint work or should i use engine paint.what will work best, i don't want to spend 150$ on a real red valve cover just spent 3500$ on motor rebuild. some one has to have done this before.what should i cover the VTEC DOHC with cuz i want it to look like a stock type r one.

I did mine on my old integra. Just take it off Strip it completely make sure u do that or it will comeout shitty....then just get engine paint do plenty of layers of whatever color then drop a few clear coats on to protect comes out good....
Get the high temp paint. I believe there is a paint that does the ripple finish or whatever and looks somewhat similar to stock. I recommend stripping the old paint off first.

You can buy VHT red krinkle paint from summittracing.com...use petroleum jelly on the letters when painting then scrape off when done.
Use Aircraft Stripper(paint remover) can be bought from Walmart, to remove the old paint from your valve cover....then clean down with Simple Green and then paint!
