checked and adjusted ignition timeing today, interesting findings
well i decided before i head to niagra9 this weekend i would check all my fluids, brakes, tires, timeing, tuneup ect... well today i checked my timeing for the first time on my obd0 b16, i completed the blue plug circuit by connecting the 2 wires together by the ecu, and checked the position of the marks on the crank. well timeing was advanced to about 22-24deg. i reset it back to 14-15deg (15deg factory spec) or between the first 2 out of 3 marks on the crank (14/16/18) well at 14-15deg when vtec engaged the car had lost power and seemed to bog, well i reset it to 19-20deg and it runs great.... could this be because of the advance of my timeing makeing more power (i only run 94) so should it be ok at 20deg? any advice would be great.
so will 22deg ign timeing be bad for my motor? btw i used the vtec supplement of the FSM to do this.. so should be right....
