i have a b16a in a 94 civic coupe. i started having problems with my motor and i cant seem to find out what is really is. when my car goes to go in vtec it bogs and i loose my power. i changed my solenoid and that didn't fix the problem. it also seems like i don't have all my power as im accelerating while driving. the rpms jump a little at ideal. a few of my friends told me to check my ecu so i did that and its fine.

Mine was doing the same thing and I changed the plugs and wires. It turned out that one of my wire was shorting out. It would occasionally miss and start bogging at higher rpms.

what kinda plug wires should i get. im working on building a head and putting skunk2 cams and a skunk2 intake.

iv also noticed i dont have any power when i try to clime a hill.

does it shutter? when you hit the gas?

it shudders a little when i start it and some times stalls out.

im thinking is had something to do with the vacuum but im not sure.

it starts kinda funny and the rpms bounce a little but when its warmed up it sounds fine sitting there. its only in my higher rpms that im having problems when driving. when the vtec goes to kick in it makes a nasty bog sound and im not getting all the power out of my motor any more. starting off its great untill my rpms are high or i try to clime a hill. all 4 cylinders are good i have good compression good spark. new plugs and wires new fuel filter. my injectors are all good.

it bogs at 6k and wont go any farther.

New ecu plugs timing belt and plug wires and it went away.

also the piece under the throttle body i adjusted. im not sure what the name of it is but it made a big difference.

It's the Throttle Position Sensor under the throttle body. Be careful taking the. Bolts off cause sometimes they may brake.
