What would cause the ecu to pull timing?
Went to the dyno today and laid down 184hp/ 125tq and my curve on the first few runs was typical.
Then the last few runs dip in the middle from 5k - 7k.
You can see the car moving on the dyno where the dips are while it's happening.
The A/F is totally flat at 13 so that is normal.
I can feel the car sputter driving it around town as well.
Could it be the ecu or the dist?
I need some advice.......

That's what I was thinking but the sensor isn't throwing a code and the plugs were new, PFR6G-11's.
We had a fan blowing on the intake manifold to lower the temps and it was cool to the touch during the runs, fan on the front as well.
I did switch back to the BKR6E-11's (week old) and same problem.
It may be loose tho as I put the head on the block and then put the KS on but couldn't tq it to specs because space was limited.

.....where did you go trey?
Send me your dynojet files - this should be interesting!
If you're running an obd2 ecu, it actually tries to change and adapt to some degree against a vafc it seems. Best thing to do is turn off the car immediately after each dyno pull. Letting it idle, the ecu tries to change stuff imho.....

All you technical ****'s on here and no suggestions?
It's not the KS since I'm using the JDM P73 so anyone else have an idea?

I don't have any inputs to your problem but why would a JDM P73 rule out the KS? Reason i am asking is beacuse i am running a JDM P73 on 94 JDM GSR. Thanks.

this is exactly what happens to my car once it warms up. Jeff at IB says that once the car i at running temp, the ecu kills what the VAFC helps.
Is there any way to stop the obd2 from trying to lose it grip on the controls? besides hondata

I know it sounds silly, but have you considered a bad ignitor in the distrib? When mine was going bad, it sputtered often, and I had a loss of power in the mid range. Also, what fuel pump?
I've heard it helps to Plug in a Code Jumper in when on the Dyno it kinda puts the ECU in a Headlock and distracts it from throwing any codes
Thanks for a helpful suggestion.
I was also thinking about the dist as a potential problem.
I plan to swap the ecu and see if that fixes it then swap the dist.
Hopefully that will narrow it down to a single faulty piece.
I have a GSR fuel pump.

I have always wondered that as well.....
Is this really true? Maybe some obd2 guru's can chime in here.....
(sorry to take your thread OT Trey.

Be sure to post the results, you've got me curious now

Knock sensor was loose, I took it off with my hand.
I need to find a deep socket that will fit it so I can tq it down to specs.
I replaced teh 02 as well since I had an extra and I was under the car.
I'll post the results tomorrow evening.
Ken, that trick makes sense since you use it to keep the ecu from messing with the timing when you are setting the timing.

There is a blue, two pin, plug above the ECU.
