Car has jumpy idle... what to check for?

Default Car has jumpy idle... what to check for?

my cars idle goes up and down constantly from 2k rpm down to like 700..
what should icheck for

car = 1991 crx si
motor = d16z6 with d16z6 intake manifold...
ecu = pm6 ecu.

do you have any codes? it might be your iac(idle air control valve)code 14. its on the back of your tb.

i dont have a swap or anything but i have a d16a6 and mine did that i just cleaned out the throttle body and it stopped. that prolly doesnt help tho.

I was about to make a post asking the same thing. My set-up is an A6 head on a Z6 block with the Z6 intake, and mine does the exsact same thing !!!

Okay, on Z6 intake manifolds, there is a FIV(fast idle valve) on the bottom of the throttle body. Take your throttle body off. You will see two screws on the side. Undo those 2 screws. Then inside there is a little clip, a lot of times they come out and will cause your idle to be messed up majorly. A way to check this is to stick your finger in your throttle body and cover up one of the holes in there(i think its the one on the bottom closest to the motor), and if it stops the idle from fluctuatiing that is the problem.

Is that the same on a b18c?
