Default ITR Engine Block Question??

Okay, this is a nubie question but I was looking at a sleeved ITR block and was trying to figure out if the oil control oriface (to the head) was flush or if it stood up off of the block.

Can you answer or hit me with a picture as I can not figure out from the manual?

Thanks!

ps - what i mean is this supposed to be flush with the block deck or does it stick up and is there an "o" ring on top of it, or will it work without the "o" ring between it and the head --- like in the manual on the b18b application?

oil pressure tends to push it up. it usually staysthere though you should be able to push it back down.

b18a/b/c all use an o-ring around the orifice. the head gasket seals it on top.
