The injectors are known to be loud, its called the famous Honda tick. But if its really loud it could be your valves. Take a screw driver and put it against your valve cover, then to your ear. You can determine where its coming from by doing this.

I would say that could be your "Lost motion".

My self and a lot of my friend have noise coming from the "lost motion".

We all have head from 1 gen. B16...

It is more noisy when cold...but once warmed, the noise is still present....but mine is noisy since I have it(already 2 years and I'm doing track time + I rev easily everyday) so I don't see a problem unless you spent all your time on a racetrack running at high rev(+9k) for ~2 hours....

ok first off, check your valve clearance.second some older hondas that have the famous ticking noise is because there was a defect in the rocker arms.they were not the right temper material and the make a ticking sound.

The VTEC rocker arms in VTEC engines don't do anything until VTEC is engaged, they just sit there rattling away, the "Lost Motion Plungers" are like little hydraulic shox that stop them moving about when they not in use, the wear a bit and the rattling gets louder, not a big worry

i did the screw driver to ear test and all is pretty damn quiet inside the valvecover considering all the motion that goes on inside........ i also did the test on the injectors that were loud as hell and were coinciding with the ticking noise......... thanx for the input but i may have my valves adjusted to be safe......

Every B16A1 that has alot of mileage has this problem. The tapping goes away while in VTEC. Not really bad, just annoying and expensive to fix.
