Default question about mixing grades of gas

i can get 110 octane around my area for $3.99 but filling my tank at $3.99 would break the bank...could i use a few gallons of the 110 race gas and the rest 93 octane? would this cause any problems? would i be better off just getting a good octane booster?

Is there a reason you want race gas? If you only have i/h/e you shouldn't need 110 octane.

putting gas with higher octane than you need will not give you any power or make the car run better......in fact higher octane gasses will not burn completely and the exhaust will be much dirtier........i forget who did the test but a 4 cyl accord was filled, run and dynoed with different octane gas and it actually lost power with the higher octane.....granted that was an accord and this is for the scooby but you should stick with the 93 if it is stock.......under higher boost conditions higher octane will be needed to control detonation

Can you actually run 110 OCtane with a stock fuel system? Aren't you worried about trashing the seals and O rings?

It wouldnt run any different. In fact it might run worse, as that high octane may burn incompletely under stock boost.
