Accord Side Airbag Light
I have an Accord 2001, and just in the last six months or so (since my transmission was replaced under warranty), the side airbag light is on about 80% of the time (but not all the time).
Last night my dealer told me that this is a known problem caused by having a cell phone in the car on the passenger side, and that the light coming on does NOT indicate that the airbag is disabled. This is the opposite of what I understand - has anyone else experienced this problem or the dealer explanation?

I have a 00' Accord and my side airbag light comes on if someone does not put on their seat belt on the passenger side or if they kinda of lean on the door panel. Another thing that happens is that if your gas cap is not tightened all the way, the light will come on. I have been having this problem since I got the car. I still don't know exactly how the light gets engaged. Man these side airbag sensors are really sensative. Someone else have the same problem?
