HELP!!! I have a 2001 honda accord ex and from time to time the side airbag light will come on then go off. Has anyone else had this problem if so what was the problem and how much did it cost to fix the problem.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The side airbag light (not SRS light) coming on/off was a problem for me too but it is NOT a problem that needs to be fixed. Think back and try to remember when the light comes on/off... did you have a passenger in the front seat?

If you did then that means they were leaning on the side, which causes the side airbags to turn off (thus the side airbag light). This is a safety feature so that the side airbag does not deploy if someone is against it! This is not a maintenance problem. Just tell them to stop leaning over on the side

If it came on when there were no passengers in the front seat, did you have something up against the side of the seat? Most likely this is the problem.

Otherwise, take it to the dealer and have them service the bitch, could be a faulty sensor.

EDIT: And I'll tell you before other people can flame you for it... use the SEARCH feature on the site. This topic and MANY others come up and people hate having to repeat themselves. Just remember to search in recent topics AND archived topics. And try different words too.

it happened yesterday my gf was in the passenger seat with it leaned back on a long trip and when she sat up (seat still leaned back) the light came on when she laid back down the light went off. weird
