Default Gas/Bay area

Has anyone noticed that most gas stations in the bay area do not have 92 octane anymore. I went to get some gas at shell in redwood city and I noticed as I was pumping the gas that it was 91 and not 92. I asked the service guy what that was all about and he told me that all major gas stations are going to have only 91 since some pipeline changed over sea.

So will putting 91 octane in our cars be bad?

Yeah I heard that they are changing to 91 octane.. However, I prefer to use Airplane fuel in my car, I believe it is 108 octane.. Once it's mixed in my engine, boy does it feel gooooood. (It helps that my relative is a pilot hehe)

Are octane boosters any good. I think I heard from someone that they are bad for the fuel lines, fuel pump, and injectors. Is this true?

The word is, in San Jose one of the stations is on Almaden Expressway, at Foxworthy. They've got 100 octane unleaded at the Union 76 there.

I've seen pump gas at 114 octain.

A kid at Clemson was going to try it, til I told him that it was for Airplanes.

I should have let him do it!!

91 only, and they said it would make little or no difference to our cars. The difference between 91 and 92 octane is negligible.

They have 108 octane at Sears Point...

Best Octane booster to use is called Nulon Pro Strength Octane booster. It's not street legal in the U.S. I believe. Here are links to some test results and to the product homepage:
http://fastlane.com.au/Products/Nulon_octanebest.htm
http://www.nulon.com.au/content/PSO.htm

Maybe I will order some.
