Default H22 ECU Codes

Hi all,

I've diagnosed my new H22 (just swapped) and have the following three codes:

8 Top Dead Center Position (TDC SENSOR)
12 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR VALVE LIFT SENSOR)
15 Ignition Output Signal

Does anyone have any idea what I need to check for each one to sort it out? The car is running ok but I really want to get rid of this error ASAP

Thanks

Dave

If the car is running okay. Reset the ECU and that should clear up the codes. The ECU has a memory and is not real time.

You can remove the battery for a while or remove the ECU fuse located in the fuse box for about 10 - 15 minutes. Put it back and it'll be reset.

Do the test and see if it gives you the codes again.

Hi,

Sadly the ECU doesn't throw the codes up immediately, it happens after about 5mins of driving, I'll try resetting but I think the problem is far deeper than that.

Thanks

I think this one:

12 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR VALVE LIFT SENSOR)

Is going to be ok, the bypass valve has a snapped end so the vacuum is broken, I'll fix this asap

Tnx

Swap wires A6 and A11 at the ECU. This should get rid of the EGR code for you.
