Where should I place the brain? Under the car, center console, passenger side, under glove, etc.

I put mine on the outside tape to the side so people can steal it. are you kiding i wouldnt tell u.

Most of the places you named work. I don't know about outside/under the car though. A lot of shops put it in the steering column.

 

as far up in the dash I reach and attach it. I even glued razor blades around it in case someone knew where it was and tried to feel their way around blind.

 

Thats not information that people are in a hurry to make public. If you really want to hide it, remove the dash and put it in a place that is impossible to get to. Yeah, it's really difficult to service but if its installed properly it shouldn't really need service anyway.
