leave it to the shop, it will save you alot of headaches, if you haven't done one before.

Most people put them under the dash, left of the steering column, easiest access to all the wires you need to get to. If you dont want anyone to find it, DONT PUT IT THERE!

I had a buddy put mine in, but he knew what he was doing.

 

if it's a 96-98 civic (or even a 99-2000) the best place is behind the radio, wayyyy back in there. Most of the wires you need to tag into are right there on the 96-98, and there's a huge space behind the main support bar for the dash area where you can tuck the brain
