The rear main seal or the seal at the front of the engine? I did my rear main w/out removing anything but the clutch assembly. The front seal will be a bitch.

What do you mean, whats a seal holder ? Any ways maybe this will help.
Use a tiny screw driver to pry out the old seal, be careful though not to chip the block. And getting it back in can be a bit harder because you put one side in and the other pops out, here is a little trick, rest the seal on the spot its suppose to go back in to , then put the flywheel on and tighten the fly wheel. This will push it in evenly.

No, you don't need to take off that cover. Just take off the flywheel, then yank the **** out. Pop the new one back in. Good $5 insurance.

OMG that is a WICKED trick! Thank you so much for posting that! I spent like 2 hours trying to tap that thing in evenly with a wooden mallet

Glad I could be of some help, I also spent about 2 hours trying to get it to go in. I was trying to find things to use as a driver and I did not have a socket big enough to act like one, I tryed just about everything. And it was late and no stores were open so I tryed using the flywheel as a socket driver and it worked. Neat little trick.
