A/C questions....please help
i just bought a 95 gsr that had the a/c lines taken out...the compressor was there. he reinstalled all the lines and said all i had to do was fill it up wit frion again. So i filled it but then autozone said i had to put in oil first...then i put in the oil after i put in 2 bottles. does that matter? how many bottles does it take to fill? when i press a/c on/off it doesn't click like its suppose to? is the compressor just bad? is it just because it's not filled enough? im really confused...can sumone please help me out...thanks
I bought a kit before for my maxima. It came with 1 can of ester oil 6-8oz i believe and 3 12oz cans of r134a. Turn the a/c on and fill it up with the ester oil first. After the first can of freon, my a/c compressor turned on. Then added one more can of freon to get it to the right coldness and psi. The process should be very similar. hth.
well they say put oil in first cuz you want to lubricate the system before the compressor turns on. I dont think it matters if you did it backwards cuz the compressor never turned on, right? Something isnt working with the a/c system. Also 3 cans sounds like a bit too much, might want to double check with a gauge.
when it turns on...the fans are suppose to just turn on ryte? cuz the fans turn on fo a lil bit once in awhile...so im even more confused now...please help...in more detail...d

your compressor should turn on and stay on. check to make sure the compressor is hooked up right. also check to make sure everything is there thats supposed to be there. i took the a/c out of my teg. its too much junk to mess around with.
You put a couple cans of refrigerant in without oil? Then how'd you add oil? Did you evacuate the system first? Did you put in a new receiver/dryer or at least new dessicant?
Sounds like you need more help than just a diagram of the hoses...
Follow the hoses. They have to make a complete circuit, from one component to the next, & come back to the compressor. If an entire hose were actually MISSING
, then the refrigerant would just blow straight out the hole where the missing hose is supposed to go! Could that have happened without you noticing??
You've also got to have the electrical system, which includes a couple pressure switches, a temperature switch, relay, etc... Is all that stuff installed back into place?
