Default Battery powered passport radar detector?

I saw an ad for one of these, Im not sure of the model number but does anyone have one of these? It seems cool cuz you can mount it pretty much anywhere in your car without ugly looking wires and stuff, but the range I have heard is not as great. Anyone have one or heard anything about it?

It's supposed to be more powerful than the 8500, but I have heard that it works just as good.

If you don't want to try it, then get the 8500 and a hardwire kit so that you don't have to plug it into your cigarette lighter.
