ok my engine just statrted making a knocking sort of sound today, and im throwing a code 22 for my "vtec oil pressure switch" but the motor is running fine and still feels just as strong but it this knocking has got me paranioid. it kinda sounds like when my buddy bent a rocker arm in his LS motor except it doesnt go away when the motor warms up. please help thanks

 

Is the knocking from the head or bottom end? Have you tried checking the oil level? Valve adjustment, if the noise is comming from the head.

 

i think its coming from the head, i havent pulled the valve cover yet to check it out though

take the valvecover off and look at the rocker arms

 

i got the same problem. but it was really cold out and my car stalled and wouldnt start back up. then it started back up and now it knocks, its not a rod knock because i get it before 3000rpm's and it differs. engine still runs fine but i dont drive it cuz i am scared of blowing it, then i have to pay for towing. can i still drive it with a bad rocker arm?

i also took off the valvecover but couldnt see nothing wrong, i started it up with no valvecover and no knocking.

 

anyone know what this is?

 

like i said my buddy had the same probolem in his LS when he bent a rocker arm but it wasnt as loud and it went away after the car warmed up, but he drove it like that for months, than he bought a new LS and sold the old one for $100
