Hey, im looking for a pair of nice tires 205/40/16 but im not sure what brands/models are high performance. I want something with the v speed rating at least, or at LEAST H, and i want them to corner well, as well as be able to drive in rain pretty well, oh yea, and tread life is VERY important, cause i dont have too much $ to replace all the time.
If anyone can shoot me some suggestions of brands/models, and where i can get them online for cheap, that would rock! Thanks a ton!

I've got 215x40x16 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's and they are superb, very grippy, great in the wet and hard wearing.
I'm not sure if you can get them in the states, but if you can buy them

Kelly Springfield (made by goodyear) HPR-GT .. Anyone ever heard of these kelly tires? Are they crap?

hey bro, go with a set of kumho ecsta supra 712s, dont go with 215s like i told you before, only go with 205. another set would be toyo proxes, but your best bet is the kumhos, look into those, they are a pretty good price and get alot of performance out of them

Yea, i was gettin the 205's, the ones i got on my car right now are kumhos 711, they are pretty nice.. toyo seems pretty good, how do they do in the rain? How long does the tread last, the ones u had seemed pretty fucked up. haha, so i wasnt sure.
kumho ecsta supra 712s in 205/40/16. i have them on my 16" c8s that was on my 4th gen. they are decent tires, especially for the money. i have them also on my 99 teg (my daily driver) and they are good in the rain. i don't have any problems with them.
plug: my c8s are for sale. PM me if you want more info.

werd, thwe kumhos seem really good, what is the tread wear like on them? Like how long before replacing, i drive pretty fast, but dont really corner hard too much.
you should get pretty good treadwear out of them, just dont dump it where the chassis is scraping and you will be fine

try like discount tire, and whatever local ones you have, then you can get them to compete with each other and keep price matching eachother

i got my nittos from tires.com. good service and price....had them in 2 days. also they have certificates so if you blow one you can get a replacement for free...when i popped one i just called and said i blew one and they sent it to me no questions asked.
I got kuhmo 712's 205/40/16 and i like them. Good value for the price. I had nitto nt450's before and those sucked big time. I also had toyo proxe fz4's and they were alright. Better performing tires would be potenza S03's and yokohama prada spec 2's but i think they're $$$ . Too bad they dont make falken azenis in 205/40/16 .
