holy moly 4.9 ? won't that make any car practically undriveable on the street? no gas mileage.. yeesh you'd need a .6 or something 5th gear.

If my prelude had a 4.9 final drive, in 5th gear I'd be at 46-4700 RPM at 80MPH on the fwy. That is, if I could get to 5th gear.
I'm no expert, but I see that I'd be under 10MPH in 1st gear at 3000 RPM. At what point would I stall? It seems like I'd have to go really hard right from a start every time.
What are the gear ratios in a D series tranny ?
BTW. my numbers are estimates* from experience and from the calculations on this site:
