99 4cyl stalls under braking
I have a bone stock 99 4cyl manual daily driver. It has had the ignition switch recall performed.
Problem is when I'm braking down from speed, particularly hard braking, or braking down hill. When I put the clutch in the engine just shuts off. It will start right back up, and its never stranded me, but it seems to be happening more and more often.
It will not stall if I heel/toe into the corner and it is in gear the whole time. Also if I blip the throttle as I'm braking it will not stall.
Best guess is maybe some kind of PCV, vaccuum, or idle bypass problem? I haven't checked to see if it is better or worse with the AC off, but I live in South Florida so the AC is on pretty much all the time.
Any input, or similar experiences?
Matt
