could my tranny be fawked up?
ok...heres the deal, its a J1 tranny and i noticed that the shift fork is slightly bent. also it wont go into 5th or reverse. where your 3rd is. thats my 1st gear. i got rid of my short shifter that was in there(now its a stock one). my tranny wines when i drive, and its full. also tonight for the first time ive heard this, i had my car in the air and i didnt have it in gear. and i moved the wheel it made a clicking noise. also my axles are fine. i bought the energy suspention shifter kit and didnt make a differance. my shift linkage is not rubbing on eachother anymore. so now, what do i do?
Sounds like how one of my parts cars were when it was in a front end accident. It might be a long shot but I would see if your shift linkage itself is bent cause something isnt lining up right so I would bet either the Fork or the shift linkage is causing the problems.
Can you be more specific.
What mounts are you using? What shift linkage are you using? Did you modify it yourself? Did you make sure you have the "bitch" pin in tight and there is no slop? Which B series axles are you using? Is your car SLAMMED? What type of fluid do you have in your tranny.
Its hard to answer questions without details.............
