vafc question
Ugh. There is no "right setting". This will be the answer that you will alsways run across with this question.
Sure, the rule of thumb is that Honda ECU's run very rich in stock for and can benefit from leaning out in order to improve the power curve, but without a dyno, this is useless.
YOU CANNOT DO THIS BLINDLY!!! You absolutely positively need to use a dyno woth a wideband 02 meter--period.
Sorry, but this is the cold, hard truth.

there are no other ideas. Either you hop on a dyno and get the settings the correct way or you leave everything at 0%. don't **** with it unless you can see how the engine reacts to changes.

whatever hardcore e-stunna.
oh, and you can type "***" on H-T. what you probably saw were settings for the AFC hack. something you don't need nor need to know about.

LOL! Best to configure the VAFC on the dyno where you can adjust it to your car's a/f ratio. You really shouldn't take settings from other peoples cars because all cars will be different.

Damn wont the guy listen. You need a dyno cause every car acts differently with certain bolts on. different ignition timing. different exhaust and intake flows. Bigger injectors. all cars are different.. so either go strap ur damn car to a dyno or get the hell out of here cause we dont need to hear this ****
just tune it your self then, set all the settings random and drive it change as you feel according.
Then when you realize that these guys were right and dyno tune it and then come back here and say thanks to the guys that helped you.

well im running certain settings on my sohc turbo w/440 injectors fuel pump etc. i am at like -37 to like -40 throughout the rpms. Im puttin a b18c1 turbo in prob install at home, should i just leave the settings same till i get to dyno cause my engine is goin to be overhauled so i got to break it in before i waste more money on a dyno. Can rc injectors fit obd2 b18?
Rice cooker- the link you gave for the VAFC info is good for beginners to get a gernal idea of how the unit functions but I feel the link gives inaccurate information about the VTEC UNMNT function. It says not to worry about this function if you have already made changes to the wide and narrow fuel maps. That is inccorect and could be potentially dangerous. The UNMNT function is to be used to compensate for fuel devlivery when the VTEC point is lowered. More clearly, if your ECU has a crossover point of 5700 and you lower it 4700 on the VTEC controller- then for that 1000 rpms your ECU is not givng proper fuel for the amount of air that the VTEC lobe is generating in the cylinders. If you take into consideration the "generic" settings that he posted he his leaning the motor out -5 during these 1000 rpms. That means not only is the ECU sending fuel for non-VTEC lift he is leaning it out even further. You can use the UNMNT feature to compensate fuel for the discrepency betweent the VAFC and ECU crossover points---- ussually you always want to add fuel with this function. Hope this helps. And oh yeah to the original poster- FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GO TO A DYNO- Take care everyone. J
