one of my friend says...type s is faster than type R....

he's probably going by the comparison in Car and Driver...and NO, the RSX is not faster. The type R has more ***** to it IMHO.

 

NO! Type S weighs more then the R and has....NO LSD! I would say from that, 5hp isn't going to make up 200+ pounds plus having NO LSD. They are close but I'd say the Type R is better....stock!

 

10lbs=1hp is the rule I believe. So actually the type-r has a 15hp avantage, coupled with stickier tires, short gears, and a limited slip.

 

Keep the added torque of the K20 in mind. Still, having said that, the ITR is faster.

 

Its about the same, test drove one the other day. Salesman tossed me the key and said "go ahead its in the back". So me and my friends tore this car up (demo car with dealer plates). I was very impressed, **** load of torque (...for a Honda) pulled very hard to redline, with alot of people in the car. Nice high quality interior nice sound system and frezzing AC. So we took it to a back road and did 6k+ rpm drops powershifting etc. Hate to say it but from a rolling start it would take us then we would catch up later, if there were people in the car, like 2 or more people the Type-S would win hands down. All in all a good car and a very worthy replacement for the GS-R, much better than all respects. I hate the shifter feel though, its like a VW, very distant feel to it not the mechanical feel of the rod acuated(sp?) unit.

 

what u all need to do is find someone with a RSX type S and race them on the track or the street.....stock for stock....i know results may vary with the driver....
but i really don't like to judge how fast a car is based on whats on paper!
keep in mind....Acura designed the type R basically for racing enthusiasts
the RSX- type S is basically for anyone imo.

u should ask what the guys think on the RSX forum
when i drove the RSX type S and my friends Type R...the R seemed to pull harder
but then again with the RSX u really don't feel how fast u're going till u look at the speedometer

 

hell yeah i totally agree...you itr owners compare your car to what actually is the new gsr what the hell?!!!
u all should be worried about the new type R since they will be able to spank you from dusk till dawn.
don't get me wrong i love the type r it is a bad *** car but what ever is, is
i'd most certaintly put my money on the type S
