exactly as he said, i think tomorrow im gonna hook an led up to the solenoid and see if it is kickin in and i jus cant hear it???
i checked everything possible, i know its only a z6 but i hear nothin and it feels like its hittin a brick wall around 5-6 grand, no cells, everything on cluster works, oil is fine, coolant is fine, what do i do>
some more questions,
1. how does the ecu know that the motor is at the right temperature?
2. how does the ecu know that your going over 12 mph
3. does the gauge cluster have anything to do with the information being sent to the ecu, if so what wires do it and how>?

try running a power wire from the battery to the vtec solinoid to make sure the system is even working. Make sure you are reving the car a little at the time. I had a problem with my 00 si after i wrecked it an it turns out the ecu needed unpluged for a while and then it worked again.
This was after I went over the entire system and ordered a new ecu. but now they both work. Just so you know I had no CEL when the vtec didn't work. Even when I engaged vtec at idle with my wire! Don't trust the cel. Run the wire like i said, if it works when givin power, unplug the ecu for a while and try it again, other than that????
O yea, one more thing, my rev limiter was droped 2,000rpm when this **** happened.

my rev limiter is fine, i ran power wire to solenoid from battery, heard the clicking, next thing im goin to do is run wire from solenoid to a lil led and is it lights up when im supposed to be in vtec then i will be disappointed, if it doesnt i have no idea how to get vtec to engage,
i also unplugged ecu, unplugged battery , tried everything to perhaps reset the ecu.. i am soo stumped
