Default GSR have as much allmotor potential as a Type R?

i was wondering this? with the same mods and engine work? would the type R engine always make more hp? what would i need to get as much power as SGT or LIP's type R's ?

ITR has a better intake manifold, higher compression, slightly better cams, and a nice hand ported head.
GSR has the same potential to make hp as the Type R its just that the Type R has a better base to work from.
you would have replace the intake manifold with a skunk, get higher compression pistons, and maybe do a few other things.

I have a GSR and I make equivalent power to a modded ITR engine, so yea to answer your question it does have the same potential.

R engine is basically a modded GSR engine, so YES.
