Whats better a type r or a Gsr engine???
What is a better engine to make more power type r or a Gsr engine for a honda civic 96 ???

type r starts out with more but gsr is a lot cheaper. id buy the gsr and spend the extra money on modding it. please search

The Type R will make more HP stock, but it also costs a lot more, parts cost more, and they're a bit more rare.
What are your WHP goals?

Type R : cost's more, more HP stock
GSR: Costs a lil less, little less HP stock, but money saved can be used on parts for the motor.
Depends on what your budget is.

These come out of an Integra GSR.
Pros
Good Hp and TQ numbers (170, 121 ft/lbs respectively)
DOHC VTEC
Tons of potential
High revving
Cons
Expensive
Becoming moreso as people keep scooping them up
Slighty longer tranny than the ITR and B16
##############################################
B18C5 (or JDM B18C)
This is found in the Integra Type-R. IMHO this is the best swap for a Civic.
Pros
GREAT HP and TQ numbers (195 and 134 ft/lbs)
High revving
Hand built motor from Honda
Optional factory LSD
Best transmission for a B series from the factory
Red valve cover
Cons
EXPENSIVE
If JDM ITR is used, the 36mm axle 32mm hub problems occur

the GSR will be enough ...couse my friend have one on his car...and he can beat the TSX ....SO fast man..and more cheaper than ITR engine
