ive noticed the fans (cooling and a/c fan) are not turning on at all..i let the car idle till its about to overheat and nothing..turn on the a/c,heat, neither fan still wont come on...also the reserve tank will be empty after filling it to max line and take a short drive park it come out the next morning and check coolant level, rad is topped of but reserve will be empty...can someone shed some light on this for me..i beleive its the relay(s) just my guess but cant seem to find it..is it the one mounted on the fan...thanks ...

just cause the fans dont turn on doesnt mean the fans are the problem...duuuuh

ok how would i go about checking it..take it out and?

I had the same problem on my 92 cx back in the day. It would simply overheat when the car is not in constant motion. This was due to the fan nut falling off, making the fan bolt spin but not the fan itself. So check your fan bolt and see if the nut is still their. Tighten it or replace the nut and you should be ok. As for the AC fan, it only spins when your ac has been on for a while; only while the AC is on. hope that helps

 

ok..the fan doesnt spin at all i would atleast hear the motor spinning so i know thats not it...as far as the a/c one...i had the car running with the a/c on yesterday till near overheating and it still didnt com on....thanks for your suggestions...

 

does it only over heat when your car is in park, and idling for a long time? if thats the case, it has to be something electrical... relays or plugs or fuses.

 

exactly...monday i was driving and it was fairly hot that day and i was a a light and i noticed the temperature rising but soon as i begun to drive it came back down to normal but once i sit for a while up it goes...so yes im with you as to electrical....fuses are good i checked all those...relay has to be the problem...or plug as u stated but usually u can hear the fan relay click when it comes on and i dont even hear that for neither fan a/c or cooling ...i think if it where the plug thats bad i would still hear the relay trying to click..correct me if im wrong and thanks for your suggestions

 

I think its your fan bro...go outside and check it rite now play with it and see if you find any play in it (looseness) Or, if you wanna go the easy route just swap the fan with a buddy and see what happens. good luck

 

ok well im at work right now and my girl drives it the majority of the time cause i drive a teg but when i get home i"ll play around with it as u suggested but dont have a friend to swap one with...well a friend with that car anyway...but thanks a million..uve beena great help
