Default WHP of this setup?

My b18c is going from a strictly bolt-on motor to slightly more built setup. A blown head gasket gave me the opportunity to trade for a b16 head, which was ported and polished (moderate), I installed ITR valve springs and am going to run ITR cams. I will also upgrade to ARP head studs, and get my PR3 chipped so i can shift at about 8500 RPM's (Type R equivelant). The block remains stock GSR internaled however. (im poor ok) WIth the bolt-ons and some tuning what numbers could i get with this? And given that, how quick can my 2300 lb. Ef sedan go down the QM? thanx.

With a B16A head on a GSR bottom end using stock GSR internals will lower the compression. Not a good idea if you are trying to go all motor....change the pistons...

I agree. Or get the GSR head back and get that ported. But since you mentioned your poor, pistons would be cheaper. At least try and get some itr pistons or you could even use b16 pistons to get the compression back up a little. Good Luck!

what gave you the idea you can **** at 8400 rpm? You are asking for a lot of trouble by pushing your redline to 8400. Considering you are poor...I would leave the red line at stock specs.

This is some crappy advice. Y wouldnt i be able to shift at 8500 smart guy? The block can handle it, and now the head can handle it.

Pistons are cheaper then That!

Dont rasie your Rev limit, Being your cams are not designed to Make power that High!

Honestly the B16 head flows alot better stock, And the .2 compression you lose will be gained by the better flowing head!

ITR cams people, arent they designed for power till 8600? (type R redline?) I could have sworn they make power till 8600. I already got b16 pistons, but i dont have money for the labor of installing them. P.S. What compression do b16a1 pistons give in a GSR?

I would save your money instead of wasting it on doing **** half-assed, spend that money on an investment, look for good deals on parts online and flip them for money, so that you can fund your project.

Don't ever do **** half-assed b/c of a weak budget, in the end it will cost more. Keep your GSR motor stock for now. until you have enough money for some CTR pistons, and perhaps a hondata unit..

My buddy had a hatch with a b18c1/b16 tranny, CTR pistons, skunk manifold, i/e/h, and ITR TB and hondata, went 12.90's and made over 180whp.

EDIT: I was visiting SoCal from Miami all of this weekend and i was in HB, went to a few cool stores there and the pier.

Pistons and big cams are planned for the future, but i need a car to drive around in. None of my mods are half-assed, just moderate.

Taking the head off means that when you put it back on you need a new headgasket ($70) and new ARP Headbolts (110) each time you take the head off. So by adding that stuff now and not having pistons installed at the same time, your wasting lots of money in parts and labor. All you really need is $340 more and you have the cash for pistons/rings, and honing. Do as much as possible at once.
