B16 head on GSR bottom end
the b16 head is proven to flow better, i know that alot of people disagree but it is proven. i have seen many flow charts. the b16 head also will lower your compression a couple of points due to the combustion chamber design compared to the gsr.
That is the combo I'm running. You should use different pistons to bump the compression, otherwise it will be fairly low, 9.6:1. I am using PR3 pistons (11.1:1 cr) w/ a ported head and GSR cams, I put down 182bhp and 134ft-lbs on the dyno. This combo = poor man's type r.
What was your full setup?
ITR valve springs, retainers
B18C1 block, PR3 pistons 11.1:1 CR
ITR IM
JG 64mm TB
AEM CAI
At the time I had a ApexI GT header, now DC JDM
ApexI N1 exhaust
ApexI VAFC
Bunch of other basic stuff, tuned, ran 13.7@99.6mph in a 99 Si (2300lbs w/o driver)
