Clutch squeaking solved- unexpected cost incoming :(
Some time ago I was asking about the reason of the squeaking clutch. It appears just after driving hard and is heard clearly. I stops when you press the clutch pedal a bit. I thought it was a release bearing but it seemed to me not realistic as I changed it like 10kkm ago (when it started to squeak)... So coming back to the clue: today I went to shop for changin' Legend calipers, lost motion assemblies and the flywheel. And it appeared that aftermarket pressure disc (Daikin- Exedy in the US- a stock replacement) is so close to the flywheel that disc springs tear apart flywheel screws and it made such a strange sound.
So the result and the additional cost is: a new set of flywheel screws and a stock original vtec pressure disc. I don't want to change the whole set as it has only 35kkm, so I change only disc.
What is interesting:I had the same story with that brand of a clutch set in my previous 3gen lude...
Definitely will avoid products of this company...

urgh..this doesn't sound good for me. I had an exedy clutch put in a short while ago, and have since noticed a scraping type sound when a let the clutch out (neutral or in gear).
Do you think this is related??
I've got a 5th gen base, running a 4th gen M2A4 tranny and excedy OEM spec clutch from clutchcityonline (ebay seller).

Exedy makes has a GREAT reputation. They supply many car companies with the clutches that go in new cars. This had to be a secluded incident.
I have the same clutch he is talking about. I have tracked my car 4 times, daily driving, autoX, etc. 14K miles later....still grabs like new.
Besides, who knows if it was installed correctly.

uhhh thanks
I have an Exedy Stage 1 Racing clutch as well, it was installed by a pro. It grabs like mad and I like it ... but it squeaks/whistles. If I put the slightest pressure on the clutch, squeaking/whistling stops all together. Again .... Anyone else figure this one out?
