Clutch squeaking and drives me mad...
This is a second car with the same problem. First was prelude 3 gen, now is 4 gen vtec. Before I replaced my old clutch everything seemed to be OK beside of its wearing. So I have my new clutch set (bearing, plate and pressure plate) put (OEM specs), fluid changed, topped correctly. No air inside and so on. When I am driving harder
or starting a cold engine and car is working on idle something is starting to squeak. I thought it could be the arm near the sleeve cylinder but it's not. I can manually stop that squeak by pressing the arm a little down . Seems that sound comes from the place where the arm is contacting the release bearing (just guessing). Now I've to press a little bit the clutch pedal to increase the pressure and stop that sound. The question is: anyone met such madness? What could be the reason? Please help.

I've got the same problem.... also with a 4th gen VTEC. I recently had my clutch assembly replaced w/ OE parts. I've got the same squeek and have a strong suspision that its the throw-out bearing. I won't know until i tear it apart, but thats what I'm going on now.
Let me know what you find.

yeah, me too. on 93 vtec. replaced w/ all honda original parts - even master cylinder. I did get a cheepie ($20) slave cylinder at advance and that almost eliminated the "chirping" - but it's still there. my friend at honda asked around and the mechanics all said it was the throwout bearing - and he would replace it for free - but i have to tear out my tranny again.
Does the squeak happen when you are pressing the clutch in and out but not in gear, or when you are clutching out and starting to move? In my case the squeal happens when I'm trying to start out in 1st. No idea what it can be, but it sounds like nails on chalkboard.
my clutch squeeks too... i recently replaced it with an OEM clutch and now whenever i press it it squeeks, and whenever i slowly release it while in gear i hear this "click...click....click" coming from the passenger side of the engine bay... anyone know what causes this?
mine used to CREEK when it was cold, but only when I pushed the clutch in. Since replacing the clutch I haven't heard that. Now when i'm in nuetral (when you can hear it best) or in gear w/ clutch out entire way you can hear it chirping/whistling - whatever squeeky sound - I've pissed around adjust my clutch pedal (yes, you can adjust it) you adjust the pedal height by loosening the master cylinder rod/arm that connects to the clutch pedal assembly. It has about an inch of threads you can move pedal heigth with and I was able to get rid of the sound altogether - but suffered because clutch engagment point can be dramatically changed. I just point up w/ the sound now - as I hear it a couple times a day.
No. It's just sqeaking when on idle. It's increasing the frequency with engine rpms...
But the sound you talk about can be eliminated by spraying some grease under the rubber boot covering the arm. Try even WD40 or something like this and the sound will disappear.

NO, that didn't do it. I tried spraying pb blaster all over the slave a couple times. still had the same exact sound. replaced the slave and no more creeking. Did you put anti-seize on your throwout bearing? a friend told me you had to put it on the shaft - (i didn't) and the arms/tabs on the TB, i only did on the arms. he has a 2nd gen n/a rx7, and after he replaced his clutch and throwout bearing, HE STARTED GETTING THE SQUEEKS! good for him. ha
