Exactly.
Some people think its useless, some people don't.
My rationing is that nearly all professionally built motors use them, from an engineering standpoint it makes perfect sense, and thirdly, honda put it in their STOCK motors. Now when you ask your crank to spin at those RPMs as your motor is making 50-100hp more than it was designed for, I think its a great precaution.

Never used 'em & never had a motor fail because of it........therefore, I would not make the recommendation that they "must" be used. However, if I were going FI and planned on putting down 350-400+ (otherwise, why go FI?), then I would make the investment as a precautionary measure.
