Default Installed Apex WS this weekend on 6th Gen coupe, but having probs...

After installing the Exhaust and checking for leaks, I was pretty happy... then upon further inspection on the lift, we see that the pipe is leaning against the gas tank... we go for a drive and I dont hear any sounds...so it's all good...

Then while waiting for my gf to come out of her house... I start to hear some thumping sounds from the bottom of the car... I get out and it sounds while the car sits in idle...the piping vibrates against the gas tank....anyone else experience this? What should I do? Bring it to a muffler shop and ask them to bend it away from the gas tank? Please help.... the sound it very annoying... is it bad for the piping to be so close to the gas tank?

This is very common with the WS exhaust. Mine sits very close and hits every so often, but not enough to be a problem. Most people either put a chunk of rubber in between the two or grind down the flange.

You need to flip the "S" pipe around. It happened to me, because I install it backwards. The pipe looks the same either way, but one side is longer than the other. I hope this will solve you problem.

hey the EXACT same thing happened to me, I think you gotta flip the b pipe over to make the c pipe fit right...I'm gonna try it in about 10 minutes, I'll let you know...

If the above suggestions don't work out, you could maybe try some exhaust wrap. A buddy of mine had the same problem and just wrapped his piping where it was rubbing.

You can also zip tide the rubber hangers to make them tide.

OK, there is only one way, it will fit on, the hangers won't line up otherwise. My problem was that the hanger for the muffler was off of the hanger at the back. I did take EVERTHING off, and put it back on, not that it would be any different. The clearance between the tank and the pipe is really close, but mine doesn't rattle, and I wouldn't use zip-ties, they break under torque, use some mecahnics wire and tie it back w/ that...

these are some good ideas guys. I have been having problems with this too. My custom exhaust has been hitting up against something a lot lately. I keep hearing it rattle at idle and stuff.
