Default Need to replace head gasket, what to do while the heads off?

Do you guys think it would be worth it to get some typeR pistons and rods while im in there? I plan to first finish off my exhaust system. Would it be worth it on an I/H/E GSR? The headgaskets leaking ever so slowly so im gonna have to go in there eventually. Let me know what you guys think, or if you have any other ideas.

I am curious about this one myself. I never tried to put pistons on from the bottom, how do you compress the rings on the install? Please enlighten us !

removeing the head is the only way to replace pistons on a bseries block.

If you have the cash then do it. I think before you get started you need to decide what your overall goal of the car is , or else you will end up wasting alot of money. I personally would thow in some forged pistons and some better rods to start. Then you have the option of nitrous if you cant decide na or boost.

I would think that you COULD just drop everything from the bottom and do it that way, but that would be alot of work and you would want to bore/hone the walls anyway, to clean them up. Although, I dont see how you could get the rings in from the bottom.
